WTB: LR style umbrella
Like the title says I'm looking for a suction cup mounted umbrella like those sold by liquid resins. Anyone?

What if a good breeze comes by while you got one clamped to a broken windshield ?
Do you think it could cause a crack-out ?

With using any outdoor shelter, whether it is an umbrella or a tent, you would need to use some common sense. If the wind is blowing that hard you obviously would not hook a wind sail to your customer's windshield. Come on guys....

Let us know how it works out for you t4k. It is too gusty in the Denver area for one of those. I wish I could use it here because it would be handy for cooling off the windshields a bit in the summer.

Ok Roo, I'll keep you posted.
Re: WTB: LR style umbrella
What is the purpose of the umbrella
I thought one might use a UV shield or better yet the bubble dome since it blocks UV and rain. Maybe I am a idiot or missing something.

The umbrella is used for shade only not as a UV shield. It would help to lower the temperature of the W/S by placing a larger area of the glass in the shade thus helping to lower the temp. The repair tech. would benefit also .

Re: WTB: LR style umbrella
LR has it on sale for $100 with an improved suction cup system. As mentioned, It not only cools the glass, but you too!
The main secret is to mount it as far from the break as possible, to relieve the stress on the glass. I've had mine for about 15 years and have cracked out exactly 1 ws when using it-placed it too close to the break on a windy day.
Handy tool to have.
