Fix A Chip give us a name of the companies that trained you without drying out. At my training centre we make about 80 of the 100 or so repairs done in training wet ones.

Great news guys, today I learnt the lesson!! 1) it's softer and 2) it makes a different sound when you tap it.

I did 3 repairs today with 5 auto traders watching me and when I was done they all complemented me on a good job stating it was the best they'd seen (HUGE EGO BOOST). One of them had just got a repair done by A*******s which was used for comparison and whoever did the first repair didn't even polish the resin, I did but it still didn't look that great.

I don't want to get drawn into a long drawn debate beating an old horse but IMO they are more interested in selling new screens than fixing chips :eusa_wall

PS guys is there a list of UK insurers who pay and don't pay cos i'm struggling to find one. I know you gave me a list screenman but I can't find a certain company on it and the website doesn't mention chip repair.

Thanks again

Screenman,

1st company back in 2000 was BRADLEYS":eusa_naug" in Stowmarket Suffolk, 2 hours training. Nothing about drying out repairs, So bought thier kit and done about 4 or 5 repairs which 2 came out ok but the others made me stick the kit on Ebay.

2nd company was ESPRIT, Again bought a kit they came to me and gave me very basic 1 - 2 hours training, Thier system was much better than the first micky mouse kit from Bradleys but nothing about drying out repairs or no mention of problems that a repairer could run into.

3rd time lucky, DELTA. Top Fully comprehensive training and very happy with Delta and more than happy to do business with them and you as I am in the UK. I went to delta as I came over for the expo and thought Id kill 2 birds with one stone:biggrin: Glad I did. I bought a Bridge and light and UV Dome. The rest I already have.

As for insurance billing I bill out to insurance companys direct and most of the time I get paid, I spoke with you about this once over the telephone. Sometimes I never see the money but I learn from those ones and now I know the companys who will not pay out so with those I take payment from the customer and send the paid invoice to the insurance, the insurance then send their policy holder a cheque. Never had a customer complain that they have not been paid back yet. Sometimes I will even let the customer pay me when they recieve thier cheque, that way it is less reason for the customer not to have the repair done. I know people maybe reading this thinking I could be putting too much trust in people but I think is a risk worth taking and it also gives the customer more confidence in dealing with me.

We do need a company in the UK who can handle billing like in the U.S
