Re: Air bubbles around bullseye edges.

Gotcha. I'm not opposed to trying to cure under pressure if nothing else works, but if it is happening frequently something else is going on, especially with a bullseye. I can't tell you how many people I've talked with over the years who have said that after months or years of repairing windshields...

Re: Air bubbles around bullseye edges.

Hi Paul, As always there are a number of possibilities, but one thing you said makes something jump immediately to my mind. Are you unwinding the "piston" from the cylinder before removing the bridge from the glass? Assuming you are using a Delta Kits bridge, this would be a mistake. The injector an...

Re: Never seen Forum so inactive

We still have a lot of active readers but very few engaging these days. It might have something to do with the Pandemic or everyone being busy, but I think the reality is that most who were once active here have moved to Facebook groups, which admittedly are more suited for those who want to build r...

Re: Auto Glass Technician Olympics

Attendance at Auto Glass Week was low this year, in part due to COVID, and likely in part to it being held in June, which is a really busy time of year for most of us in the auto glass industry, but the competitions for Auto Glass Technicians, Windshield Repair Technicians, Calibration Technicians, ...

Re: Big pit adapter

You can try using a polishing wheel on your Delta Kits or Dremel drill but I've always found it difficult to keep the surface perfectly flat. There are a bunch of different styles of felt wheels and we used to carry several of them. I think we might have some of the Dremel 414 polishing wheels left ...

Re: Insurance Job/Marketing

We haven't had that problem for awhile now but a couple of years ago Eugene Windshield Repair had several Prius windshields that wanted to run the minute you touched them. Made all of us a little gun shy for awhile. We explain to every customer that the windshield was broken to start with so if it r...

Re: Covid-19 Shut down

Oddly, our windshield repair services are down 48% YTD but our headlight restoration services are up 102%. Since our windshield repairs are primarily billed through insurance and our headlight restorations are all cash I would have thought it would be just the opposite with so many people out of wor...
