Re: My first repair
Do a little searching on Ebay and order one from a source in the USA for about $6. That way you receive it in a few days.
I usually take 5 or 6 photos ( you have to get quite close and hold the camera level.) and keep the best one.

Re: My first repair
For those members who would like to buy a closeup lens:
The following link shows the type of lens kit I used.
I paid about $10

The lens kit has several different lenses and I just used the macro lens and discarded the rest.

Re: My first repair
If the resin didn't look like it was flowing, I would have drilled it and popped a bullseye to create a pathway for the resin. I have a little macro lens which clips onto my smartphone and allows me to take a closeup photo of the chip before I begin the repair. You can always refer to the "before" p...

Re: Employee theft and TIPS!
People do tip me.
I don't do insurance work.
I would never ask for a tip or mention tips.
If you do a job and need more money for the repair, then just raise your prices.

Re: Which kit to start with?
I notice that one kit has a slide hammer and the other has a spring hammer. I prefer the slide hammer because I feel that it does not strike the glass as hard as the spring hammer. I have a spring hammer too, but I just use it as a probe. If you drill to the proper depth, the glass at the bottom of ...

Re: making a warranty
The windshield is already damaged. The purpose of repair is to stop the damage from spreading so you don't need a new windshield, and an added bonus is that cosmetically it will also look 80 to 90 % better after the repair is completed. You don't go out and buy a new tire every time you get a flat d...

Re: YELP
I have 31 five star reviews on yelp. Customers mostly tell me they found me on Yelp and then called me because I have such stellar reviews. Its great word of mouth advertising. Some people find me on on Google too." Yelp calls me once in a while and tries to up sell me, but I tell them I am happy wi...

Re: Inside chip?
Maybe it was a chip which some other WSR guy had previously repaired and you were just looking at the scar left after the repair.
