Re: wefixwindshields.com????
I guess I live in an 'internet-savvy area'. I get e-mails from them on a regular basis. Well worth the money. But most of the responses come via e-mail rather than by phone, so you have to check your e-mail on a regular basis. I have a sign on the back window of my truck "www.wefixwindshields.com" ....

Re: Moral Question about price & service
I often do re-dos, after determining if they can, indeed be done, or even need to be done. Some old repairs look nasty but are good repairs just the same, and I tell the customer this. When one does need to be redone, I explain to the customer the process I have to go through and tell him that becau...

Re: what about when it's windy?
I hate working in the wind, but that's just a personal preference. I dont see that it has any affect on the repair one way or the other ... except that I am in a hurry to get done with it.

Re: Marketing book on ebay?
I purchased Ron's marketing package a few years ago, and have had success with all of the strategies I tried. The key is that you have to apply the information...there is no magic formulas.

We got off course here. The OP was asking for advice as a newbie. Let's all see how we can help him. Acro: The most important part of this business is getting trained and then practice, practice, practice. Research the archives here for as much information as you can absorb. Keep asking questions, a...

Re: Fixed location operations.
I established a fixed location for this past summer that worked out very well for me. I parked my RV in the parking lot near the coffee shop, and left it parked permanently. I would drive my truck back and forth to home. When at work, I parked the truck at the entrance to the parking lot, with banne...

Re: GT Training in Durango
OH BOY! 100 degrees in the shade spend the day with some tech wienies not my chosen way to use vacation I went there. Spent the entire training session in air conditioned, climate controlled comfort. The training is great. The people are great. (tech wienies?) It was summer when I went. If it gets ...

Re: Equiptment
I use Glass Technology equipment, specifically the 20/20 and the VP-5000. I have not used the Maxim, but have heard that it has the same capabilities as the VP-5000, but is more compact. If it is anything at all like the VP-5000, it is a very good machine. Glass Technology makes good products, and s...

Re: Why I joined the NWRA
The smart insurance companies will be offering glass policies as an add on or "up-sell" to their basic coverages. Farmer's already offers one to their clients with more than $150 deductible. Maybe this is the time to start weaning our clients off insurance and have them pay up front instead? It has ...
