Re: Headlight restoration mobile set up

We used to use the Metabo but they wear out too quickly and they don't stand behind them. The Flex is a really nice tool in my opinion but I think the Griots tool holds up just as well or better for less money and even comes with an extra set of brushes. When we started buying Griots we had some dur...

Re: Orbital Sanders, which manufacturer and why?

For 3" random orbit tools Griots for electric and Chicago Pneumatic for air. We test everything we can find and feel the size, durability, and ease of use is hard to beat with Griots and CP. We really thought Metabo was going to be great as they are made in Germany and have a good reputation but the...

Re: Had sweet gig and lost it

So here is what has ended up happening and I think it worked out for the best. I went to a locally owned (not big chain store) tire store. Talked to the owner which I kind of knew but wasn't yet friends with. I asked if he would be intrested in adding windshields to his tire/suspension shop. I also ...

Re: Customizable Hood Protectors

We have looked into it before but the minimal quantity order was too high for a lot of people, so we have them in no logo so you can take it to your printer and get your information added to it.

Re: Bubble Dome/Moisture Evaporator

I also hope that you are using the heat sink, I would hate to be without mine now it saves so much time and no fear of the legs still being closed.

Re: Multiple repairs

Good to know. Thanks. Followup wuestion, do insrance companies have a limit? If you're asking about how many they pay for, most companies now pay one price no matter how many chips the customer has. There are a few companies that will pay for up to 3 repairs at a reduced price for the second and th...

Re: Multiple repairs

For me it's more a question of how good the repairs look and how much the replacement costs. If the repairs all come out great as they should, I don't have a limit. We don't normally see many windshields needing more than 2-3 repairs at one time but some of my fleet accounts would sometimes have dou...

Re: Most Challenging Aspect of starting a New Business

You mentioned bookkeeping. Do you provide mobile service? Tent or brick and mortar? If you are mobile how do you collect taxes for different locations, cities and counties? How do you pay them to the different jurisdictions? I am 99% mobile. No tents for me. I do have a shop, but I live out in the ...
