Re: Fear the drill and tap??

I prefer the slide hammer, just allows me to use the amount of impact that I am comfortable with. When attempting to stop a crack one word of advice, first thing make sure that the crack is on outside layer of glass and not on inside layer. You can usually do this with a probe, fingernail or razorbl...

Re: Supplemental income

Windshield repair is whatever that you want to make of it, not very many places that you can make 50,60 or even 120 dollars in an hour or less. With windshield repair you can. Not going to happen overnight, and you really need some training and a lot of practice. I couldn't be happier with my choice...

Re: Delta Heat exchanger

The heat exchanger is genius is my opinion, I will basically heat every break to make sure that there is no moisture in them, unless I am convinced that it just happened and by that I mean that I can still see the dust on the break where the rock hit. Usually early in the day my heat exchanger is pr...

Re: Three Windshields Later, Still Not Satisfied

I installed an XYG windshield #DW02007 in a Dodge Pickup last week only to see as I pulled it out of the shop that in the center of the windscreen there was about a Quarter size circle that was a highly magnified distortion. It was small yet very distracting. Had to replace with another. The problem...

Re: Three Windshields Later, Still Not Satisfied

Also customers will have to be willing to spend more money for an OE windshield, of which I find most people want to cut corners on their windshield expense. But most aftermarket windshields as I said, meet certain standards and should be good.

Re: Need advice on a chip repair

Looks like it might have significant impact breakage, if that is so you might have to clean away debris and cap break with pit resin and re-drill a new entry. Other than that looks like pretty simple repair.

Re: Drilling

The only time that I pop a bulls eye is when I drill at the end of a crack so as to terminate it. For the most part the only other time that I use a drill is when the damage is so bad that I have to cap the break and drill a new whole so that it can be filled. Most of the time the rock that hit the ...

Re: Just starting out

I guess that it depends on how much work that you want to do. Me personally when I got started I went ahead and got the Delta kit that had 2 bridges and all of the extras that come along with it. I want to be able to work on 2-3 cars at a time if need be, and that will happen if you are committed to...

Re: Do you guys offer any freebies with the purchase of a windshield service?

I always vacuum a vehicle complimentary after replacing a windshield or any auto-glass. We offer coffee, water, cold drinks to all customers and try to have as gifts such things as calendars for their car, coffee cups with our business logo, or even sometimes caps with our business logo on them. Not...
